Xantico does not feel like a chain: it feels like someone painted their favourite place. This is what you will find, with real photos of the hostel.

01 · The courtyard

A courtyard that looks up

Inside you find a multi-storey interior courtyard: balconies with black railings, hanging plants, the green-ray wall with the Xantico sign and the blue ping-pong table on the green floor. The rooms look onto this courtyard.

02 · The lounge

Chalkboard, red armchairs and games

The lounge has red leather armchairs, board games (one lives inside a suitcase), paintings and a whole chalkboard wall covered in travellers’ messages and drawings. For cold evenings there is a common room with TV.

03 · Arriving

Reception open 24 hours

The dark counter with the Xantico Hostal sign welcomes you at any hour; behind it you can see the blue passage and orange lockers. Check-in runs 13:00–23:00: if you arrive outside those hours, let us know in advance.

04 · The art

Nariño on the stairs, pictures in the halls

A giant mural with the word Nariño, flowers and stripes runs along the stairway, and the hallways are lined with wood-framed pictures. It is part of what makes Xantico feel unique.

Kitchen and café

There is an equipped shared kitchen (stove, fridge and utensils) to cook your own food, and an on-site café serves breakfast and Colombian empanadas. Breakfast is not included in the rate: ask what is on today.

We do not have cleared photos of the kitchen or café yet, so we do not invent them.

Facilities

Everything you need between routes

Grouped the way a traveller lives them. Items marked “Ask us” exist, but their conditions (price, hours or space) are confirmed directly.

Sleep

The basics, done well: a good bed, hot water and someone awake at reception.

  • Large bunks In the dorms, every bed has its own charging point and light.
  • Hot showers It matters in a cold city like Ipiales.
  • Security lockers Ask us Ask at reception how to use them.
  • 24-hour reception Check-in runs 13:00–23:00; if you arrive outside those hours, let us know.

Share

The courtyard, kitchen and lounge belong to everyone: this is where routes and conversations cross.

  • Ping-pong in the courtyard The blue table by the green wall: hard to ignore.
  • Board games and darts A games room and a common lounge with TV for cold evenings.
  • Terrace For fresh air, and sun when it comes out.
